Saturday, May 4th, from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, Missoula Farmers’
Market’s 52nd season will debut and will operate from the first Saturday in May through the end of October. Located at the North end of Higgins by the red XXXXs, the market will feature early season veggies and plant starts, eggs, meat and mushrooms. In addition, locally grown, raised, gathered and processed meat, eggs and mushrooms are available all season long. This year we’ve added agricultural crafts. This includes locally sourced agricultural products like bees wax or local wool. We are also welcoming two new co-managers to the market in 2024. Katiee Collins was a volunteer at the market in 2023 and agreed to take the reins as Operations Manager this season. Tami Hubbard will also be joining as Communications Manager. Hubbard has past experience with local farmers markets. Both Collins and Hubbard are looking forward to helping to create a welcoming shopping experience. Shoppers can purchase a cup of coffee or a cold beverage and a treat from one of the bakers and prepared food vendors as they stroll through the market to the tune of the weekly musician. They can enjoy the atmosphere and browse a wide selection of canned vegetables, jellies, jams, and sauces, dried teas, honey, handcrafted face and body care products and other value-added products made from local ingredients. “The Missoula Farmers’ Market has always been home to a variety of vendors who hail from Missoula and all over the world,” says Lou Ann Crowley, President of the Missoula Farmers’ Market board of directors. We’re proud to feature local food with an international flair and can’t wait to taste the delicacies from both new and seasoned vendors this year.”

The Missoula Farmers' Market has always done a lot with a little. Our budget is currently under $50,000. And we're able to provide a venue for local farmers and entrepreneurs to make a living and grow their businesses. We distribute tens of thousands of dollars in SNAP/Double SNAP, WIC, and Senior Coupons each season so everyone can benefit from healthy, local food. We provide a welcoming community space complete with musical accompaniment on Saturday mornings and Tuesday evenings. We are a venue for health education and a forum for local nonprofits and government agencies to connect with the public.
And there's so much more we can accomplish with your support! We've always funded our operations from the fees paid by vendors. With rising costs and expanded goals, we are looking to diversify our revenue streams so we can keep vendor fees as reasonable as possible. Our goal is to raise $2500 during Missoula Gives from at least 15 donors. If we reach 15 donors by 7pm this evening, we are eligible to receive funds from the Stretch Pool, so every gift of any size is important! Thank you in advance for your generosity. Join us by the XXXX's for our First Saturday Market!Come celebrate our start to the 2022 season, which happens to be our 50th anniversary! We are welcoming old and new vendors that will provide so many local products to our Missoula community. Market is Saturday, May 7th from 8am-12:30pm. We will have music, an ATM, hot foods, seating, and much more. Come visit us at the information booth across from the XXXX's if you have any questions!
